Let us look at just a few extraordinary pieces of evidence, which when accepted as such, can only lead to a complete rejection of the official 9/11 story:

1. It is amazing that to this day, the complete disintegration of a 47-story skyscraper into fine dust can be ignored by mainstream media sources not just in the United States, but all over the world. There was indeed a third skyscraper in the World Trade Center complex, WTC 7, which also collapsed on September 11^th, which was not struck by a plane. The collapse of this building, which would have been international news for weeks had it occurred on any day other than September 11^th, occured at almost freefall speed more than seven hours after the second tower had collapsed. Amazingly, this event was actually covered by major news channels on the day of September 11^th. It was even mentioned by famous news presenters such as Dan Rather (CBS) that the event looked surprisingly like a building being brought down by “well-placed dynamite:”

   Since September 11^th, however, there has been a complete whitewash of the subject by all mainstream media sources. More amazing still is the recognition by the lease-owner of the World Trade Center complex, Larry Silverstein, who collected $5 billion in insurance money after the attacks.

2. Another large hole in the official story is that the defenses of the world’s most sophisticated military apparatus were unable to intercept even one of the four hijacked planes over the course of nearly two hours. This theory of mere incompetence (the official story) is particularly implausible in the case of the plane which crashed into the Pentagon, for two reasons: firstly, because the crash occured almost an hour after the first plane hit the towers and the military authorities were well aware that the nation was under attack; and secondly, because the Pentagon is the Pentagon - the operating center for the most sophisticated military machine the world has ever seen - and is well equipped to deal with a hijacked plane that has been heading in its direction for 40 minutes after veering off its plotted course. As if this weren’t enough, the Pentagon actually conducted drills prior to 9/11, code-named MASCAL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentagon_MASCAL), which envisioned a hijacked commercial airliner crashing into the building. Of course no mention of this is made in the 9/11 Commission Report. More disturbing still is the fact that on the day of the attacks several military drills were actually taking place envisioning scenarios in which hijacked planes were intercepted by fighter jets. Some of these drills were taking place in Alaska and Northern Canada, and others involved the insertion of fake blips on radar screens simulating hijacked planes. All this created a great deal of confusion, and it seems many otherwise competent members of the military were unable to prevent the attacks because the whole operation was camouflaged under the guise of these drills.

3. Yet another disturbing piece of evidence were reports on the BBC and elsewhere shortly after the attacks that several of the alleged hijackers were alive and well. This is consistent with the absence of any Arab names on the passenger lists released by the airline companies (this is also omitted by the 9/11 Commission Report):
   

4. Another disturbing reality is the nature of the 9/11 Commission itself. From the outset the Bush administration was against any public investigation into 9/11 on the grounds that it would reveal sensitive information which would jeopardize national security. The Commission was only formed after a campaign by the victims’ families demanding a public inquiry reached the mainstream media. The White House eventually gave in, but insisted it be allowed to choose the chairman of the Commission. Their first choice was Henry Kissinger, whose reputation for involvement in government scandals and coverups (particularly in the CIA-backed coup and execution of the democratically elected Allende) raised strong objections from the victims’ families, forcing him to resign. Kissinger was replaced by Thomas Kean, who himself had several conflicts of interest, not least of which was the fact that he was an executive at oil giant Amerada Hess and co-chairman of the Homeland Security Project. Nevertheless, the Commission was formed and the interrogations began, although in a manner which victims’ families described as a complete farse. Most of the tough questions submitted to the Commission by the victims’ families were ignored, and when Bush finally agreed to testify, he did so only in the company of Vice President Cheney, behind closed doors, and not under oath. To this day no transcript of Bush and Cheney’s testimony to the Commission has been made public.
   
   

To make matters worse, during the 9/11 Commission interviews it was learned that the Executive Director of the 9/11 Commission, the person who decided what was actually worthy of investigation, was a White House insider, Philip Zelikow, who had been a member of President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board (PFIAB), and had written a book with Condoleeza Rice. Any objective observer of the whole 9/11 Commission process could only conclude that the investigation was a thinly-concealed coverup.
